St. Patrick's Day: Day Five

Any book with the colors of the rainbow

Talk about leprechaun legend of leaving a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Songs:
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue.
Don't forget there's Purple, too.

Rainbow Colors

Red and Orange

Blue and Purple
on the scene.
It's a rainbow of colors
way up in the sky.
After a rain storm,
look up high.

Activities:
Tape 2-3 crayons together to draw in a rainbow or melt down broken crayons to make your own rainbow crayons.

R is for Rainbow--color, fill in with fingerprints, practice cutting up colored paper and glue in.



Rainbow Shaker--paper plate painted like a rainbow, fold in half and fill with rice.

Snacks:
Rainbow Recipes--Rainbow Cake and Rainbow Cookies

Rainbow cups: Use cut up pieces of fruit in the colors of the rainbow to make layers in a clear cup: strawberries/raspberries, mandarin oranges, pineapple, kiwi/green grapes, blue berries, plums/purple grapes. Top with a "cloud" of yogurt and sprinkle with golden raisins for the pot of gold!~

RAINBOW KABOBS
Cut red strawberries, orange oranges, yellow bananas, green melons, blue blueberries, and purple grapes into bite-sized pieces.
Have your child thread the fruit onto wooden skewers to make a rainbow kabob.
