Gather items that are used for brushing/flossing teeth: toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, etc. Use different types/sizes, old/new toothbrushes, etc. Discuss what each item is for and let child investigate. Ask questions like, Which toothbrush is right for you? Which toothpaste do you like the best? etc.

Toothbrush Colors:
Sing some tooth-brushing songs, demonstrating the proper method of brushing teeth:
This is the Way we Brush Our Teeth
(make brushing motions while singing)
This is the way we brush our teeth,
brush our teeth, brush our teeth.
This is the way we brush our teeth,
each and every morning. (evening)
I Love to Brush My Teeth
"The Farmer in the Dell"
(have children pretend to brush/floss teeth while singing.)
I love to brush my teeth.
I love to brush my teeth.
Up, down, and all around.
I love to brush my teeth.
I love to floss my teeth.
I love to floss my teeth.
In, out, and all around.
I love to floss my teeth.
